Chi ha scolpito l`Antece, il misterioso guerriero di "Costa Palomba" ? Sembra che questo remoto luogo dei Monti Alburni sia stato frequentato fin dalla Preistoria. Di certo è stato un luogo sacro per le popolazioni lucane che abitavano questi monti e che, forse, proprio qui svolgevano i loro riti religiosi. L`enigmatica scultura sembra posta a guardia delle bellezze naturali che rendono gli Alburni così affascinanti e misteriosi: i faggi imponenti, le rocce a strapiombo, le grotte, gli inghiottitoi, la presenza del lupo, i panorami mozzafiato e, più a valle, i centri abitati con la loro storia e i loro monumenti. Uno dei più significativi è, senza dubbio, la Grotta
di San Michele Arcangelo, una chiesa rupestre ancora ben conservata. Qui la stratificazione della storia ha lasciato le sue orme nelle preziose statue di santi che adornano la cappella e che la rendono un vero e proprio scrigno di cultura e di antiche memorie.
Who sculpted the antece, the mysterious warrior of "Palomba Coast"?
It seems that this remote place of the Alburnum
Mountains has been frequqnted since prehistory.
Certainly it was a sacred place for the populations originally from Lucania that inhabited these mountains and that, perhaps, actual here developed their religious rites.
The enigmatic sculpture seems to stand guard over the natural beauties that make the Alburnum so charming and mysterious: the imposing beeches, the overhanging rocks, the caves, the presence of wolves, the breathtaking panoramas and, downstream, the inhabited centers with their story and their monuments.
One of the most significant is, without a doubt, the Cave of San Michele Archangel, a well preserved church.
Here,history has left its footprints in the precious statues of saints that adorn the chapel with its culture and ancient memories.
